Frequently Asked Urethane Foam Roofing Questions

  • What is urethane foam roofing, and how is it applied?

Urethane closed cell foam, is great insulation and water-proofing. It is a sprayed-on application, which makes it seamless and one complete piece over your roof. Because it’s one complete piece, with no joints, seams or screw holes… The insulation R value, is over 10. The 1 inch of foam is your insulation value and your water proofing, providing superior protection against environmental elements. We then coat the foam with white Elastomeric coating. The white coating simply protects your foam from the sun. We put enough coating on to last five years. After five years, you still have a beautiful foam roof. If you re-coat the roof with just the Elastomeric coating, we will issue you a new five-year warranty.

  • What are the benefits of urethane foam roofing?

Urethane foam roofing offers excellent insulation, significantly reducing heat transfer to help maintain comfortable indoor temperatures year-round. We also guarantee our roofing system against leaks and condensation in AZ rooms. Foam helps reduce energy costs and protect your structure from leaks. Foam can also handle some ponding water, which makes it a great choice for flat roofs like AZ rooms and commercial buildings.

  • Is urethane foam roofing suitable for mobile homes and similar structures?

Yes, urethane foam is especially ideal for mobile homes, park models, Arizona rooms/ flat roofs. Because these types of structures don’t come with much insulation value, foam is a great choice.  Also, foam is the only application that can be sprayed down into your carport awning pans to eliminate water from running down the outside wall. And because foam is lightweight, foam can be sprayed right over your existing roof.

  • Can urethane foam roofing solve issues with water running down walls between mobile homes and carports?

Absolutely. Foam is the only application that can be sprayed out and down into your carport awning pans. At Cool Foam roofing, we spray the foam out 1-2 foot down and into your awning pans, guaranteeing no water to run down your outside wall.
